Short Take: Kana names new CEO

Kana Communications named current president Jay Wood its new chief executive. Wood replaces Michael McCloskey, who resigned because of recently discovered medical conditions that prevent him from continuing his role. Wood was the former head of Silknet Software, which Kana acquired last spring. Kana, based in Redwood City, Calif., makes Web-based software that helps companies manage their overwhelming amounts of e-mail and customer service.
