The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers will award Intel cofounder and chairman emeritus Gordon Moore its Founders Medal for his "world leadership in very large-scale integration and for pioneering contributions in integrated circuit technology." The award includes a gold medal and $10,000. The IEEE will also honor Intel director of microprocessor architecture John Crawford for his work in PC processor development.
