Short Take: IBM memory counterfeiters charged

United States Attorney Donald K. Stern announced that Andrew Leppo, of South Easton, Massachusetts, and Leo Cooney, of Randolph, Massachusetts, have been charged with bank fraud and trafficking in counterfeit IBM products. Leppo, who operated as Tech-Way Computers in Randolph, allegedly purchased generic computer memory, then labeled and packaged that memory using IBM trademarks and part numbers, earning over $2,000,000 in sales. Leppo and Cooney allegedly established L.C. Computer & More to traffic in the counterfeit products.
