Hewlett-Packard announced that it has signed an agreement to buy Vital Technology, a Singapore-based developer of machine-vision inspection systems for the printed circuit-board assembly and integrated-circuit (IC) packaging industries. Effective immediately, Vital Technology becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of HP, to be publicly known as the HP Singapore Vision Operation. Operations will remain based in Singapore. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
