Short Take: HP announces NetMetrix

Hewlett-Packard announced NetMetrix 5.0, a hardware and software package that performs network monitoring and reporting tasks. The latest version includes four new Ethernet and FDDI-based probes as well as support for the RMON2 standard across its entire line of LAN and WAN probes. Also included in the latest release is interoperability with Cisco Systems' line of popular Catalyst 5000 switches, allowing for advanced performance monitoring. NetMetrix 5.0 will ship at the end of the month with prices starting at $5,995.
