Short Take: GEIS offers catalog service

Electronic data interchange (EDI) provider GE Information Services has unveiled a retail catalog service. Shoppers' orders are sent directly to suppliers and vendors by EDI. Catalog information can be updated quickly through EDI or online, with notices sent to requesters and buyers through email or EDI links. The service uses the GEIS network and the Internet.
