Short Take: FairMarket gets $1.5 million investment

FairMarket, an Internet-based auction site that will allow vendors from the computer products industry to anonymously sell excess inventory, has received $1.5 million in funding from private placement. The additional capital will be used primarily to drive marketing activities as well as to strengthen business development for the company, which is scheduled to launch its business-to-business auction service during the first quarter of 1998.
