Short Take: Excite files to sell shares held by Netscape

Excite has filed for an offering of 423,079 shares of its stock held by Netscape that "may be offered for sale from time to time," according to a regulatory filing. The shares, amounting to a 1.8 percent stake in Excite, are part of the companies' recent cobranded Web site deal. Excite also reiterated that it expects to post a loss for the second quarter and for the full year.
