Short Take: Egghead posts loss as online revenues grow

Egghead has posted a net loss of $5.5 million, or 24 cents a share, for its first fiscal quarter, compared with a loss of $3.7 million, or 21 cents a share, posted for the like quarter a year ago. Quarterly revenues fell to $29.5 million from $56.2 million. Egghead, which recently shifted its business to the Web, said online orders grew to $21.1 million during the quarter, up from $15 million.
