Short Take: DOJ says MS still seeks to muddy waters

The Justice Department responded to allegations that it has waffled in its case against Microsoft by accusing the software giant of trying to confuse technical issues at the heart of the case. For instance, the government argued, "because Microsoft Word delivers certain shared program libraries that...may upgrade and replace certain essential Windows 95 system files, removing every file Word installs would disable Windows." The two parties will face off in court again Thursday.
