Data General expanded its line of AViiON servers with three Pentium Pro processor-based departmental servers. The AV 1600 tower is an entry-level server ideal for workgroup, file, and print applications; the AV 2600 tower is a powerful platform for departmental applications; the AV 3600R is designed to meet the requirements of VARs and systems integrators. The servers are now available for volume shipments. Estimated street prices will start at under $3,900 for the AV 1600, $8,100 for the AV 2600, and $13,300 for the AV 3600R.
