Compaq has begun selling its ProLiant DL320 server, a rack-mountable, single-processor machine 1.75 inches thick. The server, designed for jobs such as sending streams of audio or dishing up Web pages, runs Windows NT, Windows 2000, Solaris and Linux. Prices start at $2,541 for a model with an 800-MHz Pentium III processor.
