Compaq Computer and CompuCom Systems, an international computer reseller, announced a manufacturing "colocation" effort in which CompuCom will operate its own computer configuration center in a facility linked to Compaq's main site. This colocation program eliminates shipping time from Compaq to CompuCom, thereby allowing the companies to reduce total costs.
