Short: AMD's motion for a new trial denied
Altera announced that AMD's attempts to overturn the June 1996 jury verdict regarding its patent lawsuit have been denied. The jury verdict found that a cross-licensing agreement does exist between Altera and AMD, which gives each company certain rights under the other company's patents. The U.S. District Court also rejected AMD's motion for a new trial. AMD originally filed the lawsuit against Altera in August 1994.
