Seagate today announced its latest enterprise solutions, including two new members of the Pulsar solid-state drive (SSD) family, two Savvio 15K and 10K hard-disk drives (HDD), and the latest Constellation ES.2 3TB HDD.

The company says these drives "raise the bar in enterprise storage" by collectively offering the best of their class in terms of throughput speed, endurance, and storage space.

According to Seagate, both the Pulsar.2 and Pulsar XT.2 SSDs are the result of more than 200 years collectively of development and offer a 2 million-hour MTBF rating. The Pulsar.2 SSD comes with up to 800GB of storage space and is the first enterprise SSD that's based on multilevel cell flash memory, resulting in a better price/performance ratio. The drive supports both SAS and SATA 6Gbps interfaces.

The Pulsar XT.2, on the other hand, is a 2.5-inch, SLC-based SSD. It supports a 6Gbps SAS interface and offers up to 400GB storage. Seagate says the Pulsar XT.2 SSD delivers the highest levels of consistent performance, data integrity, and drive endurance for the most demanding enterprise environments. It's also the fastest drive in the Seagate portfolio, with sequential reads at 360MBps and writes at 300MBps.

The Savvio 15K.3 and Savvio 10K.5 hard drives are the latest in Seagate's Savvio 2.5-inch enterprise hard drives. Both of them support the 6Gb SAS interface. The Savvio 15K.3 is available in 300GB and 140GB capacities, whereas the Savvio 10K.5 provides four capacity points, including 900GB, 600GB, 450GB, and 300GB.

The last drive is the Constellation ES.2, which is Seagate's fifth-generation energy-efficient 3.5-inch drive. It offers the highest capacity in the enterprise market with up to 3TB of storage space. It comes with Seagate's new RAID Rebuild feature for enterprise HDDs that significantly helps reduce hours of lost productivity during RAID recoveries. The Constellation ES.2 is available in both 6Gbps SATA and 6Gbps SAS interfaces.

All of these new drives are currently shipping to OEM vendors, such as HP and Dell, and will be available to consumers by the second quarter of the year. No prices have been announced.
