SBC bundles in BlackBerrys
The Baby Bell is selling the pagers as part of a bundle for businesses.
SBC Communications on Tuesday began selling BlackBerry pagers for the first time, in a bundle of discounted office phone, fax and Cingular Wireless cell phone services tilted at businesses, a representative for the local phone company said. BlackBerrys with black-and-white screens cost $250, while the color versions are $350, the representative said.
SBC also said that its package of wireless and wire-line services later this year will include services such as Cingular's wireless Internet, SBC PremierSERV Network-Based VPN (virtual private network) and SBC FreedomLink Wi-Fi.
