Handhelds that use the Palm operating system are grabbing a larger share of the Asia-Pacific market, excluding Japan, according to an IDC report. Palm cited the report showing that regional market share for Palm OS-based devices grew from 52 percent in 1999 to 62.5 percent in 2000.
Shipments of handhelds with the Palm OS rose from 126,700 in 1999 to 543,000 last year in the region.
