Oracle puts Workflow package to work

Oracle unveiled a number of client-server applications designed to extend back-end business processes to the Web.

At its user conference in Orlando, Florida, Oracle announced Workflow, an application that analyzes database information and presents it in different views through Web browsers. The product also provides notification messages to users involved in a business project through email.

Workflow is designed to work in conjunction with the company's forthcoming InterOffice package, a suite of groupware and messaging software due out this summer.

Oracle said Workflow will be tied to three new Web applications debuting this week: Web Employees, Web Customers, and Web Suppliers. Each will sell for $25,000 per server and run on the Oracle7 database and Oracle Web Server.
