Olympus unveils 5-megapixel camera

Olympus has introduced the 5-megapixel Camedia E-20N, which the company describes as its most powerful digital camera to date. The level of pixels can create high detail on 11-inch by 14-inch prints. The camera can also work at 2.5 megapixels to let people take photos of fast action or in very bright light with shutter speeds up to 1/18,000 second. The lens offers the equivalent of a 35mm to 140mm zoom range in 35mm photography. The camera features dual slots for SmartMedia and CompactFlash memory cards, including the IBM Microdrive. The $1,999 camera will be available in late October. It ships with a 32MB SmartMedia memory card, video cable, USB auto-connect cable, two lithium batteries, a remote control and Adobe Photoshop Elements version 1.0 for Windows or Macintosh.
