NetManage readies for Y2K

The PC-to-host connectivity applications maker announces Y2K upgrades for its terminal emulation, TCP/IP suite, and PC networking software.

PC-to-host connectivity applications maker NetManage has announced a slew of Y2K upgrades for its terminal emulation, TCP/IP suite, and PC networking software.

The first new NetManage release is available today for its OnNet Host and OnNet Host Suite and addresses customer requirements for Year 2000 compliance and support for Microsoft Windows 98, and also ensures performance of other parts of its products after the Year 2000 date change.

New features Back to Year 2000 Index Page also include support for the NetManage Interdrive version 5.0 client, a Network File System (NFS) utility that includes a number of improved networking commands, the company said.

In addition, the Cupertino, California-based company has released the Year 2000 compliant versions of it PC/TCP Network 5.0 and PC/TCP Kernel 5.0.

The two PC-based products are built for addressing Y2K needs for customers who continue to work in legacy DOS and Windows environments, the company said.

PC/TCP Network works on systems running DOS, Windows 3.1, and Windows for Workgroups 3.11 applications. PC/TCP Kernel provides TSR-based TCP/IP technology and support for users who need to network in both DOS and Windows.

Although pricing wasn't made available for OnNet Host and OnNet Host Suite, PC/TCP Network 5.0 is priced at $279 and PC/TCP Kernel 5.0 is priced at $119.
