Software maker Macromedia announced Monday the release of Flash Remoting MX, server software for developing Web applications to run in Microsoft .Net and Java environments. The developer tool costs $999 for each processor it runs on, and a free trial version is available now from Macromedia.

Macromedia is in the midst of a broad campaign to more tightly integrate Web applications with content, allowing for smoother presentation.
