Lovefilm, Amazon's £5 per month UK video streaming service, has signed up a bunch of family-friendly movies from Disney -- not the entire House of Mouse canon, but a great sample nevertheless.

Highlights include Pixar's peerless Up, Wall-E and Ratatouille, and cheerful animated fare such as The Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, Dumbo, Sword in the Stone, The Rescuers, Treasure Planet and The Tigger Movie.

It's more of a taster than a full pass to the Magic Kingdom, with all-time greats such as Bambi, The Jungle Book, Cinderella, Snow White, The Lion King and the Toy Stories all still missing from Lovefilm Instant. They are available to borrow on DVD and in some cases Blu-ray, but that costs extra.

But what's this? Why, it's the best Disney film ever made, Robin Hood. Oodelally! A pox on the phoney king of Netflix!

Ol' Walt's live-action stable is pretty well represented too, with Inspector Gadget, Flubber, Old Dogs, George of the Jungle and D2: The Mighty Ducks, as well as classics such as Mary Poppins, Davy Crockett, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Kidnapped.

Lovefilm is slightly cheaper than Netflix, which charges £6 per month, but is just as well represented on smart TVs and app platforms. Netflix has all of these Disney films too, which is unusual -- often only one of the two has any particular film.
