Insignia marries Windows 95, PowerMac

Some users say that everything Windows 95 can do, Macintosh can do better. Now they can test that theory by running applications for both on the same Power Macintosh desktop.

Insignia Solutions announced today that it has licensed the Windows 95 OS from Microsoft for inclusion in its SoftWindows 95 cross-platform software. The $349 application lets any Power Macintosh computer with at least 16MB of RAM run any Windows 95 applications, including cutting and pasting information between Windows 95 and PowerMac applications and using Macintosh peripherals from their Windows software.

Insignia also announced version 3.0 of its SoftWindows for running 16-bit Windows applications that the company says is 35 percent faster than the previous release.
