InfoAccess debuts new package

The electronic publishing software maker rolls out Transit Central 3.0, the latest version of its Web-publishing package.

Electronic publishing software maker InfoAccess today rolled out the latest version of its Web-publishing package.

Priced at $3,995 per server, or $799 per upgrade, Transit Central 3.0 is a 32-bit application that allows users to publish documents as Web pages that can be maintained and linked to other Web locations. It includes batch document conversion, template control, and allows users to create multitiered Web sites that can be maintained without Webmaster intervention, according to the company.

Transit Central 3.0 can translate documents from Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, AmiPro, MS Write, FrameMaker, Interleaf, RTF, and ASCII, as well as Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and HTML files from common Web authoring tools.

The Web publishing package includes TC Station, a workstation component used to organize source documents, and create templates and schedules; and TC Server, a server-based component for automated batch document processing.

Transit Central 3.0 requires a 486 or higher processor with 16MB or more RAM for Windows 95, or at least 32MB for Windows NT 4.0. It also needs at least 50MB of hard disk space, a graphics card, and a CD-ROM drive. Transit Central 3.0 supports HTML specification versions 2.0 and 3.2.

InfoAccess is a Bellevue, Washington-based company that develops software for publishing information by electronic media, including intranets, extranets, the Internet, and interactive CD-ROM.
