India the subject of Silicon Valley tech summit

John Doerr, The Google Foundation's Larry Brilliant and others are slated to speak at the TiE Conference on May 12 and 13 in the Santa Clara Convention Center.

TiE, which stands for The Indus Entrepreneurs, is a networking organization created by South Asian execs and engineers. TiE doesn't invest in companies, but members sometimes do plunk money into each other's companies.

Other speakers include Shashi Tharoor, Under Secretary-General of the UN and Judy Estrin, chairman of Packet Design and one of the co-founders of Cisco Systems.
