The service, offered by IBM Credit, allows buyers to use their credit cards to purchase refurbished PCs electronically over the Internet as well as through current ordering options including email and an 800 number (800/426-5440).

The site uses encryption software to protect credit card transactions; shoppers must have a secure Web browser to make purchases.

U.S. customers can order PCs ranging from low-end 486 models through machines with Pentium processors, but models and availability change routinely. U.S. orders will be shipped within 48 hours, and each system comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee and a 90-day quality guarantee.
