IBM selling "preowned" boxes

Big Blue is hawking used PCs on the Net, debuting the IBM Refurbished Computer Warehouse.

The service, offered by IBM Credit, allows buyers to use their credit cards to purchase refurbished PCs electronically over the Internet as well as through current ordering options including email and an 800 number (800/426-5440).

The site uses encryption software to protect credit card transactions; shoppers must have a secure Web browser to make purchases.
