H1Z1 devs letting banned cheaters back in, but there's a catch (Tomorrow Daily 183)
On today's show, Ashley and Khail think up ways for cheaters in video games to repent for their sins, watch the fast-moving VelociRoACH and learn more about a task-learning bot named BRETT.
We hope you had a lovely holiday weekend (if you live in the US or UK), or we hope you had a lovely Monday (if you don't). Either way, we're back with a brand new show, and our first story is all about cheating. We've seen tons of different ways to cheat, and game developers always do their best to bring down the ban hammer on guilty gamers, but one developer is giving ousted members of their game's community a chance to return.
The makers of H1Z1, an open-world zombie survival game, offered banned players a tiny glimmer of hope to get their shuttered accounts back: Openly admit and apologize for their transgressions, and post the video to YouTube. We have to admit, we're impressed, and it looks like quite a few banned folks made honest attempts to get their accounts back. Should they, though?
We're also checking out new robots from UC Berkeley, and a handful of new releases this week.
