Google needs to fix its privacy policy, U.K. data watchdog says
The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office is the latest to order Google to amend its controversial policy or face a fine.

Google must change its privacy policy or face the consequences -- so says Britain's privacy watchdog.
The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office has warned Google that it faces "formal enforcement action" if the privacy policy isn't amended before September 20, although a fine -- which could be up to 500,000 pounds ($750,000) -- is unlikely.
Google is in hot water in several countries over its combined privacy policy, which breaks down the barriers between different Google accounts and has no option for users to opt out.
