If U2 can have special edition iPod, why not Ashlee Simpson?

A very slick mock product page has been posted that ties together two of the week's headlines--Apple Computer's U2-themed iPod music player and Simpson's infamous gaffe on Saturday Night Live.

Before you check it out, you should be aware of the Simpson story, then view a clip of the train wreck (note her Dexy's Midnight Runner's "dance" step), and then check out Apple's Web page touting the U2 iPod.

Now you're ready to peruse a mock Web page touting the "Ashlee Simpson iPod karaoke edition."

Personal favorites include, "After purchasing and downloading "The Complete Ashlee Simpson," you'll still have enough room for as many as 4,996 other songs." And, "thanks to 25 minutes of skip protection, you can do a hoedown just like Ashlee without skipping like Milli Vanilli."

Kudos to the creators of the page, and to the people who dredged up this unrelated clip of George W. Bush issuing a middle-finger salute. Reminds one of Dick Cheney's little outburst.
