FreeMarkets tapped by Marathon Oil
Business-to-business online marketplace provider FreeMarkets on Monday said it signed an agreement with Marathon Oil to provide it with access to FreeMarkets' B2B Global Marketplace and support services, which Marathon will use to purchase goods and services for its global operations. Marathon Oil, a unit of USX, is a large oil company that does business in worldwide exploration and the production of crude oil and natural gas. The oil company plans to use the marketplace to buy goods and services online, the companies said in a joint statement.
