Former Palm COO takes start-up's top job

Former Palm Chief Operating Officer Alan Kessler has been named president and CEO of Santa Clara, Calif.-based networking storage start-up Intransa. Palm Chairman Eric Benhamou is on the board at Intransa. Intransa is a privately held company and in June completed its initial round of funding from Advanced Technology Ventures and U.S. Venture Partners. Kessler resigned from Palm on Aug. 17, just as Palm was acquiring software maker Be for $11 million in stock. Kessler was in charge of the Palm operating system.
