Forget how you learned to write

If you were to say that the writer of this blog item seemed a wee bit obsessed, Blogma would understand. But in the blogosphere, as in the rest of the world, there are experts on anything imaginable, and this is no exception.

So those with an intense interest in the alphabet will probably enjoy this entry on a site called Speak Up, which describes itself as a community devoted to graphic design that "questions the importance of the profession in our culture."

The posting at issue drew 77 responses. "That alphabet. It's been around a long time, and I, for one, have some complaints. Don't you think it's time for a redesign?" the lengthy, letter-by-letter analysis begins. "I mean, the thing's not exactly 'fresh' anymore, is it?"
