Epiphany plans to release the next version of its customer relationship management software next week, the company said Monday. Included in the release, Epiphany's first major product upgrade in more than a year, are navigation tools that make customer information readily available to salespeople. A salesperson preparing for a customer meeting, for example, can click on the meeting in her calendar and pull up information about that customer's order history, eligibility for discounts and products the customer might want.
The new release also allows customers to pick up where they left off with a company's call center agent after entering information at the company's self-service Web site, reducing the need to repeat information they'd provided elsewhere. Epiphany built the entire release using Java 2 Enterprise Edition programming language, which it says improves the performance of the applications as well as the ability to integrate them with other software applications and run them on a variety of operating systems. The price of the application starts at $250,000.
