Electrolux's new dishwasher has a need for speed
Electrolux is showcasing a new fast-washing dishwasher at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show this week.
LAS VEGAS -- Electrolux did a little research to find out what folks think about their dishwashers. Turns out, a lot of people are dissatisfied. Eighty-three percent are unhappy with cleaning performance, while 57 percent of users think their dishwasher takes too long to complete a cycle. I know I can relate to at least one of these complaints -- and chances are that you can, too.
So, Electrolux decided to focus on these areas during the design phase of its latest model, the stainless steel dishwasher with IQ-Touch controls. Announced today at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), this dishwasher features a wash cycle that's supposed to clean and dry your dishes in 30 minutes flat. Not only that, but it's supposed to deliver a "professional-level clean." I'm intrigued.
Electrolux claims that the ProClean with SatelliteSpray Arm tech in this new model will have 400 percent more water coverage than your current dishwasher at home. It also comes with a third rack to make room for those awkward utensils that don't always fit in your silverware basket. The Electrolux stainless steel dishwasher with IQ-Touch controls is priced at $1,099 and will be available for purchase this March.
