Online auction giant eBay has set up shop in Poland, the company announced on Friday. People in the Eastern European nation now can use a dedicated Web site to do online trading using the Polish currency, the zloty. Citing figures from market researcher IDC, eBay says business-to-consumer e-commerce in that country is expanding rapidly. It's expected to jump nearly 400 percent over the next three years, from $319 million to $1.2 billion.

Earlier this week, eBay reported first-quarter net income of $256.3 million, or 19 cents per share, and revenue of $1.03 billion.
