Set-top box maker Digeo said Monday that it has hired former Sony Electronics executive Mike Fidler as its CEO. Fidler had most recently been senior vice president of Sony's home products division. Fidler replaces Jim Billmaier, who left the company at the end of April.

"Mike has a proven track record of bringing innovative products like these to market," Digeo chairman and backer Paul Allen said in a statement. "In addition, he has a wealth of experience building industry partnerships that will be crucial to the success of Digeo."
