Dell launches new servers
Dell Computer has introduced several new PowerEdge servers including a 3.5-inch, two-processor model that replaces the company's fastest-growing server product ever. The new 2550, designed to be bolted into racks, comes with one or two Pentium III CPUs running at speeds up to 1GHz. It supports up to 4GB of memory and has onboard support for two RAID disk systems. The 2500 is similar but is free-standing instead of rack-mountable. Both models will be available in April with starting prices of $2,399, Dell said.
