Corio CEO to chair software board

Corio said Chief Executive George Kadifa has been named chairman of the Information Technology Association of America's ASP board. San Carlos, Calif.-based Corio was an early player in the nascent ASP (application service provider) market, providing clients with hosted enterprise applications from software makers such as PeopleSoft and SAP. The new board was created to govern the direction of ITAA's newly created ASP program, Corio said. The ITAA, provider of global public policy, business networking and national leadership to promote the growth of the IT industry, comprises some 500 corporate members. The organization's ASP program includes approximately 200 members from various ASP companies, independent software makers, hardware and other technology companies competing in the burgeoning sector. The ITAA said its ultimate goals for the ASP group is to educate the market, build awareness and improve customer service in the industry
