Chevron closes online marketplace

Chevron Products Co. announced Friday it was closing its online marketplace, Silicon Valley Oil Co. The site, launched in June, auctioned unbranded fuels and provided spot-market fuel sales to commercial and industrial customers. Silicon Valley Oil's closure stems from slow growth in customers, according to the company. The Web site's 45 employees will be absorbed within Chevron's operations.
