Online car site Carclub.com has shut down, according to a message on its Web site. The company, which referred members to dealers and offered discounts on gasoline and insurance, closed because of a lack of investment capital, the message said. Carclub.com had raised more than $45 million from investors, including Sun Microsystems and Ford Motor.
