Buzz Out Loud 1488: Sharks with frickin' lasers on their heads (Podcast)

On today's show, it's the Summer of Hackers: Anonymous hits the Spanish police website and threatens the Federal Reserve (which, frankly, we find to be a target that's probably worthy of a little DDoS action). Plus, a nation-state may have hacked IMF, but they're not saying much, and the Bitcoin market crashes (buy low!). Plus, scientists create jellyfish that can shoot tiny, weak lasers ... a stepping stone to the scariest sharks ever.

Welcome Back
Customer Appreciation Program
http://us.playstation.com/psn/welcome-back/

Hi Buzz Crew,
For those who had a problem downloading their free Playstation Network games, I too thought I was out of luck. But as it turns out, there is a workaround and Sony has it listed on their official “”Welcome Back”" page now:

Just click on the “”How to Get It”" button on that page, and read further down for the (rather obscure) procedure to get your free stuff. They definitely could have made this easier, but at least no one should lose out as long as they claim their games before the promo ends.

Hope this helps…

I still have windows xp. I upgraded to i tunes 10.3 and i have a feature on my i tunes that allows me to redownload my lost purchases for free. It shows the i cloud picture so what else is supposed to happen? On bol 1486 you said i cloud would not work with xp but so far it does. What other features should i look for in i cloud in case i decided i need to upgrade my computer. Also…can’t i just use my i cloud feature on my i phone 4 and skip the computer all together? My other question would be will i be able to sync my i phone 4 with the i os 5 software update if i have windows xp?

Thanks.

Dear BOL Crew,

I was listening to Ep. 1486 where you were discussing digital hoarding. It made me think; what happens to all my data stored in various clouds around the world when I die? And who then owns the content?

Must I now redo my will to explicitly state who if anyone gets to see my digital life? If not stated, does it become property of the state? Can my digital estate be sold at auction for none payment? Can Apple foreclose on my cloud storage locker?

I think I want my cloud buried with me. From cloud 9 to 6 feet under. If you hear any bass coming from beneath your feet, that would be me… LOL

Love the show
