Software maker BroadVision said Wednesday that it has hired William Meyer as its chief financial officer, filling the vacant post. Meyer replaces Phil Oreste, who left the company in January after just five months as CFO. The post has been something of a revolving door at BroadVision as the company has faced declining revenue over the past two years. Oreste had replaced Fran Barton, who left the CFO seat after less than a year.

BroadVision, based in Redwood City, Calif., sells business portal software designed to let workers access data and applications using a Web browser. According to the company, Meyer has spent 17 years in the software industry, holding financial management positions most recently at Mainsoft and Phoenix Technologies.
