Bill Nye the Science Guy had a memorable but short-lived stint on "Dancing with the Stars," where he brought his nerdy charm and questionable dance skills to the television show. His professional dancing partner, Tyne Stecklein, showed up on Reddit to answer fans' questions about the experience.

While some people had questions relating to Stecklein's other professional work, just about everybody wanted to know the dirt on Nye. Stecklein confirms that Nye's geeky personality isn't an act. "He IS the science guy that we all love even when the camera's not rolling!" she writes.

Nye came to the show with a background in swing dancing, but it didn't help much with learning the choreographed moves. Stecklein's shares that Nye translated the choreography into science terms like "inertia" to help him remember the dances.

"Retaining all the steps on the right counts was a challenge, but I couldn't have asked for a harder-working partner! He was obsessed with getting it right!" Stecklein writes.

One of the awkwardly memorable moments on the show came shortly after Nye first met Stecklein. Nye shared his theory about all the best "Dancing with the Stars" couples displaying "sexual tension." Stecklein chose that exchange in answer to the question, "What has been the weirdest sciencey thing Bill has said to you?" Nye may be a science whiz, but apparently he comes up a little short in the Romeo department.

Though Nye left "Dancing with the Stars" on the back of low scores and a quadriceps injury, Stecklein is holding out hope that he'll return to dance an encore for the show's finale. Maybe we'll get "She Blinded Me with Science" after all.
