Big Blue overhauls portal software

IBM is sprucing up its portal-server software to make it easier for nontechnical workers to update their company's portal sites.

Big Blue this fall will better integrate its WebSphere portal product with IBM Content Manager software that manages all types of content, such as audio, video, graphics and Web content. Portal server software lets companies build Web portal sites for their employees, customers and business partners. Other improvements in IBM's portal server software will include a template that software developers can use to build a portal specific to their needs and projects.
