Design and drafting software maker Autodesk announced Tuesday that it has released Building Systems, its building modeling system meant for use by mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers. The integrated product replaces its specialty applications aimed at mechanical and electrical engineers and is designed to allow easier collaboration on design documents.

Building Systems 3 includes expanded design libraries and tools for creating 3D models and 2D drawings. The software will be available starting Thursday through Autodesk's subscription program.
