Ariba tools to run chemicals marketplace

Business-to-business software maker Ariba on Wednesday said it signed an agreement to provide software and services to run the eGlobalChem marketplace. The Web site provides procurement, collaboration and online catalog tools and services to suppliers and buyers in the chemicals industry, the companies said in a joint statement.The eGlobalChem marketplace will ultimately be available in five languages--English, Japanese, German, Spanish and Chinese--and will allow participants to buy and sell equipment and services, and provide business intelligence, inventory management and logistics support. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
