Allaire updates Web editing toolset

The updated toolset allows developers to build and manage Web sites and includes an edit view, a design view, and a browse view.

Allaire today debuted its latest release of its Web editing toolset.

Home Site allows developers to build and manage Web sites and includes an edit view for writing code, a design view for designing pages visually, and a browse view for checking the progress of a site in a browser-like environment.

The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company's HomeSite also includes support for many budding standards, like the Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language, DHTL Cascading Style sheets, and JavaScript.

Additionally, the product provides a customizable interface that includes dockable toolbars and "tag snippets" that can be private or shared with a Web team.

New code editing features in the product include coding for JavaScript, ASP, Perl, SQL, and DHTML.

Priced at $99 per CD-ROM or $89 for an electric version, HomeSite 4.0 runs on Windows 95 and 98 Windows NT and will ship in November.
