You Can Now Earn Delta SkyMiles When You Order Starbucks
Delta SkyMiles members also get double Starbucks Stars on flight days.
Starbucks and Delta Airlines have launched a new partnership that allows loyal travelers to link their rewards accounts: Delta SkyMiles members now earn one mile for every $1 spent at Starbucks, and they get double Stars on days they're scheduled to fly on Delta.
Customers who link their accounts before the end of 2022 earn an additional 500 Delta SkyMiles and, once they make a qualifying purchase, 150 extra Starbucks Rewards Stars.
Delta has also added Starbucks to its menu of premium benefits for SkyMiles Medallion members. Starting in 2024, Diamond and Platinum SkyMiles Members will also be able to select 4,000 Starbucks Stars as one of their annual Choice Benefits.
Delta is the first US partner of Starbucks' Reward Together program, which will see the coffee company partner with other corporations to cross-pollinate rewards plans. Earlier this year, Starbucks Canada launched similar partnerships with TD Bank and Air Canada's Aeroplan loyalty program.
The goal is "to increase awareness and drive the growth of Starbucks Rewards" as well as attract new members and make it simpler for customers to join, Starbucks said in a statement.
Starbucks has also begun offering mobile ordering in select airport locations. Previously, the service was unavailable because the cafes are licensed, not company-owned.
Travelers at over 230 licensed Starbucks stores in 70 US airports can now order ahead, including at Washington Dulles International Airport and hubs in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York, USA Today reported.
