Win an iPad in CNET's Always On/Torture Test Giveaway
We here at <a href="http://cnet.com/alwayson">Always On</a> want to improve our karma by giving away our tortured gadgets. And we're starting with the least scathed among them: the new iPad we tortured back in season one.
We know, we've seen your e-mails. There's something that doesn't feel quite right about buying a beautiful, brand-new piece of technology and then deliberately attempting to destroy it. Granted, it's all in the name of science and helping you make better buying decisions -- and feel more confident that your device can survive the occasional drop, ding, or dunk. But still. We're not sleeping at night.
Enter the Torture Test Giveaway. We're going to give away these "lightly used" devices in whatever condition they happen to have ended up in -- so yes, you might find yourself entering to win the Nexus 7 that we well and truly killed in our last episode, or the MacBook Air that fell off the back of my car, got dunked, and only comes on when plugged in.
Or, like this week, you could win a new iPad, which we somewhat gently tortured all the way back in Episode 2, and which has not a scratch on it. Seems like a pretty good place to start, right?
Here are the first things you should know about how to win:
- Register as a CNET user. Click the Join CNET link at the top of this page to start the registration process. If you're already registered, you don't need to register again.
- Leave a comment below. The comment can say anything you like -- funny, cute, mean (hopefully not mean), but we prefer entertaining. It doesn't really matter, but it's fun for everyone.
- Leave only one comment. You may enter for this specific giveaway only once. If you enter more than one comment, you will be automatically disqualified. Sorry. And most importantly:
- The winner will be chosen randomly. The winner will receive one (1) new iPad, with a pre-torture value of $499.
- If you are chosen, you will be notified via e-mail. The winner must respond within three days of the end of the sweepstakes. If you do not respond within that period, another winner will be chosen.
- Entries can be submitted until Monday, September 17, at 12 p.m. ET.
