What's in a name?
Plenty, potentially, if your name happens to be Kerry Edwards...
Since presidential hopeful John Kerry announced that his running mate will be John Edwards, traffic has surged to www.kerryedwards.com--and so have offers to buy the domain.
According to bail bondsman Kerry Edwards, who acquired the domain a couple of years ago and uses it to display pictures of his son, he has been offered $150,000. That would be substantially more than the current average price tag of $2,581 for a domain name resale, according to a company called Zetetic. Then again, how many Web site addresses are plastered on thousands of bumper stickers and banners?
Yes, there is a www.bushcheney.com, but we couldn't get it to load.
